- 1kg piece Abrahams Beef Brisket
- 1 large carrot, cut into large chunks
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 celery stick, cut into chunks
- 1 leek, cut into chunks
- 1 handful of parsley stalks
- 2 unpeeled garlic cloves
Cooking Instructions:
- Prepare the ingredients: Place the beef brisket in a large pan along with the vegetables, parsley stalks, bay leaf, and garlic.
- Add water: Cover the brisket completely with water.
- Bring to a boil: Set the heat to high and bring the water to a rolling boil.
- Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 2½ hours, until the meat is meltingly tender.
- Cool in cooking liquid: Turn off the heat and leave the brisket to cool in its own cooking liquid.
- Slice or shred: Once cooled, remove the brisket from the pan and either cut it into thick slices or shred it into pieces using two forks.
